TED talks glorify "The Era of Open Innovation" when amateurs collaborate and self-help guides flatter with promises that dynamic groups can unlock anyone's inner genius.1 Business gurus deem "co-creation" an ideal capitalist model of unpaid labor, such as crowd-sourcing products before selling them back to the crowd. In fact, a minor industry of trade books peddles the curative powers of collaboration in such titles as The Power of Co-Creation: How to Build It with Them to Boost Growth, Productivity and Profits. ....
